Juno Therapeutics GmbH Munich is seeking a Manufacturing Specialist to support the development of engineered T-cell products. The team is responsible for transferring manufacturing technologies for the development of gene-engineered T cells to a GMP-compliant environment. Successful candidates will have a strong foundation in aseptic manufacturing of primary human cells in compliance with GMP regulations.

Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Work with Process Development and other teams to develop and transfer next generation cell manufacturing processes to internal and external GMP facilities
  • Aseptic production of cell-based products in clean rooms in compliance with manufacturing instructions and according to relevant hygiene and GMP regulations
  • Perform cell selection, cell culture, viral and non-viral gene transfer, and cryopreservation
  • Support in evaluation and implementation of process optimization and provide guidance and troubleshooting assistance as needed during a deviation in the process
  • Monitoring and qualification of clean room and equipment
  • Support warehouse management and coordinate supply inventory
  • May train peers and other manufacturing employees in manufacturing process
  • Authoring and execution of SOPs and batch records
  • Documentation and analysis of data

Required qualifications:

  • Educated as BTA / PTA / MTA / CTA or BSc in Biology, biotechnology, bioengineering or medical technology related field with a minimum of three years’ experience in aseptic manufacturing of human cell products.
  • Strong knowledge of sterile cell culture lab techniques such as cell passaging, cryopreservation, and formulation of media is mandatory
  • Cell therapy manufacturing experience in a GMP-regulated environment is preferred
  • Experience with common cell processing devices such as CliniMACS, closed system cell washer, bioreactors and controlled-rate freezers is a plus
  • Experience with working in a clean room with full aseptic gowning is beneficial
  • High understanding of quality and responsibility
  • Ability to work independently and in a team setting
  • Fluent in German and good English skills are required (oral and written)
  • Computer literacy including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Experience in flow cytometry and immunological in vitro assays such as ELISA and ELISpot
